Abstract

In this century, has emerged in Chile a group of writers who, without correspond technically to the concept of “generation”, have in their narratives important elements common, both in stylistic such as in contents. Belonging to the context of the political transition in the country, the characters remember their past in stories and images of childhood and youth, seeking a semblance of history. Instead of large events, they find a time of density everyday never interrupted. This literature allows us to reflect the emergence of memories of everyday life in Chile today, when the matrix narrative of the great story seems exhausted in the social imaginary and a past multiple and insubordinate returns as the figure of the present.
