Abstract

The article deals with the Cahiers of Simone Weil understood as the space for a thought that is made through writing. Confronting The gravity and the grace with the Notebooks, the problems in the reception of the Notebooks is argued as a direct consequence of the mode of writing that configures them. From there, I reflect on the notebooks as the place of an intimate, exiled writing, withdrawn from discourse, that necessarily occurs in a fragmentary form. It is also shown how, in the experience of Simone Weil, the tension between fragmentary nature and unity corresponds to the impossibility of communicating the truth.
