Die römischrechtliche Tradition und die Privatrechtsentwicklung in Ungarn

Abstract

In the first part of his paper the author is dealing with the Roman law tradition in the kingdom of Hungary in the middle ages. In the second part of the article the subsequent fate of Roman law is analyzed. The author points out the signficance of Roman law in Hungary both in the civil law doctrine and in the lenghty process of codification of private law. He emphasizes also the role of the civil law doctrine based on Roman law in the current recodification of private (civil) law in Hungary.
