This paper put out the complexity that characterized the Indian audiences as institutions in the resolution and appeal of acts of government. The irnportance within the overall framework of public administration, with a review of relations between Audiencie of Lima and the viceroy of Peru, and also some specific episodes in the life of the Audiencia of Lima are outlined, the ones that illustrate the irnportance of its resolutions relating to claims against governmental acts during the XVI and XVII centuries.
