In the frame of an investigation to reconstruct the afroporteños life during the federal period, we decided to publish everything related to the voluntary and expressed liberation of slaves. From this point, using the civil registries and files as primary sourcespar excellence, it was studied the legal activity carried on by the afro people recorded on these registries. The first topic deals with the buying and selling of urban real estate connected, in a qualitative and quantitative way, with some aspects of the loan of money contract. It is emphasized the legal regulation of the contract in some facets linked with the participation of the afros -as borrowers and as money lenders- and there are also pointed out the reasons that motivated them to ask these sums of money.
