The foundation of Universities in the New World was a manifestation of the missional sense of the discovery and conquest enterprise of the Spanish crown. The author makes a reference in this essay of the role that in this process the foundation of the University of Cordoba displayed, along with a historical synthesis of the organization of the classes that conformated the teaching of Law in such institution, from the XVII century until the Revolution in 1810.
